A Quiet Place: Day One (15)

A Quiet Place is expanding its universe with an ambitious and incredibly moving prequel, fuelled by the starpower of Lupita Nyong'o and Joseph Quinn.

For those coming in fresh: A Quiet Place's creatures, whose origins were kept somewhat mysterious in the first film, have been revealed to be definitely alien. The second instalment confirms they fell from outer space, but the question of whether they came inside asteroids, spaceships, or another type of infested debris is still up in the air. Was their sudden arrival a planned invasion, or an unhappy accident?

Michael Sarnoski, director of the brilliant Pig and one of the writers of the previous two entries in this impressive invasion thriller series, takes over from John Krasinski as director of this sequel, which takes us back to the day the voracious monsters landed on Earth and replaced humanity at the top of the planet’s food chain.

Don’t expect your usual chaotic action alien invasion flick, come for an original monster story with a human heart.
