A quietly powerful true story of an amateur historian’s quest to uncover a long-buried injustice – by exposing what rightly became a national scandal, Catherine Corless changed Ireland forever.
Some discoveries can change everything. Frank Berry’s deeply humane drama — based on a tragic true story — chronicles Catherine Corless’ tireless search for the truth after the amateur historian uncovered the recorded deaths of 796 infants and children without corresponding burial records at the former Bon Secours Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, Ireland. Driven by an unwavering sense of moral justice, Corless exposed one of the darkest chapters in modern Irish history and sparked a profound national reckoning.
As Corless’ inquiries were met with indifference, skepticism, and even resistance, she refused to abandon the evidence until it proved impossible to ignore.
