Saved from studio axing by popular demand, the latest Looney Tunes film puts Wile E. Coyote in a battle against big business, shaking up the courtroom drama with timeless cartoon invention.

After years of failing to catch the Road Runner with Acme’s inventions, Wile E. is intrigued when an Albuquerque lawyer says he could sue the company for failing him. Refusing to take a settlement quietly, he launches a trial that could open a much bigger conspiratorial can – but Acme will not let its reputation slide easily, and the fight soon engulfs the whole human and cartoon world.

Based on an old New Yorker piece (updated, bizarrely, by May December’s screenwriter), the film perfectly captures the silly creative brilliance of Warner Bros.’ shorts, set against a human conspiracy thriller (one with an all-too-familiar corporate villain).
