It is 1985, in the run-up to Christmas in a small town in County Wexford, Ireland, Small Things Like These stars Cillian Murphy as Bill Furlong, a coal merchant supporting his wife and five daughters.

While delivering coal to a local convent one morning, Bill uncovers a disturbing secret that forces him to confront the dark realities of the town, dominated by the Catholic Church, and his own past. Based on Claire Keegan's acclaimed novel – she also wrote Foster, the source novel for The Quiet Girl – the film explores themes of moral courage, guilt, and complicity. Premiering at the Berlin Film Festival, Small Things Like These showcases Murphy’s powerful performance as a man wrestling with his conscience in a community shrouded in silence. The story unfolds as a moving reflection on the impact of individual choices in the face of social pressures.
