A wild and wonderful rock opera, set in contemporary Los Angeles.

Annette tells the story of Henry (Adam Driver), a stand-up comedian with a fierce sense of humour who falls in love with Ann (Marion Cotillard), a world-renowned opera singer.

Under the spotlight, the pair forms a passionate and glamorous couple. Together, they produce life in the figure of baby Annette – brilliantly portrayed through puppetry (plaudits to Estelle Charlier and Romuald Collinet), presenting an artificial yet eerily lifelike embodiment of their union.

A film by visionary director Leos Carax (Holy Motors, The Lovers on the Bridge), with story and music by Ron & Russell Mael of Sparks, this original musical is a journey of love, passion and fame.

At the heart of its swirling strangeness lies something of real truth and beauty.
