In 1991, with the world of video games firmly ruled by the Mario brothers, a new contender arrived: Sega’s lightning-fast blue blur of a mascot, geared up with red running shoes and an attitude to leave Nintendo in the dust. Now, for the first time ever, Sonic the Hedgehog gets an outing on the big screen - joined by a host of characters and, of course, Jim Carrey at his manic best.

Forced to flee his home planet, Sonic (voiced by Ben Schwartz) finds safety hiding near the small town of Green Hills, Montana… that is until he’s discovered by local sheriff Tom (James Marsden) after his supersonic speed causes a massive blackout. The two team up in search of a way of getting Sonic home, but it won’t be easy – especially when a secretive task force, led by the diabolical Dr Robotnik (Carrey), want to capture him for their own evil plans…

Fast-paced, exciting and heaps of fun, this new twist on the world’s most famous hedgehog is a delight for kids and a hearty helping of nostalgia for adults.
