Fourteen year old Billy Batson (Asher Angel) is searching for his lost mother when he is placed in a foster home with five other kids, including his roommate Freddy (Jack Dylan Grazer – It). But Billy’s life is about to change forever when he is selected by a wizard to be his champion.

Now, whenever Billy shouts out a magic word he is transformed into the adult superhero SHAZAM! (played by the brilliant Zachary Levi – Chuck).

After he and Freddy start testing out his new powers, as well as using his adult alter-ego for the important things like buying beer and skipping school tests. Billy is soon faced with a threat of catastrophic proportions as the evil Dr. Thaddeus Sivana (Mark Strong), who was previously rejected by the wizard seeks Billy out and attempts to steal his powers for his own.

Shazam! is a welcome departure from the dark, gritty tone of the earlier DCEU movies and is a perfect blend of a body swap comedy and an exhilarating superhero blockbuster (think Big meets Superman).

So say the word and feel the power – you’ll soon be shouting ‘SHAZAM!’ from the rooftops!
