Hot on the heels of runaway success Bohemian Rhapsody, it’s now the turn of Elton John – one of the greatest songwriters, costume-curators, and sunglasses-enthusiasts – to be the subject matter of the next blockbusting biopic.
Get ready for the unbelievable and human story of Reginald Dwight. Born and raised in a council house in Pinner, he went on to sell more than 300 million records. He is currently on his monstrously huge 3 year tour Farewell Yellow Brick Road which began in September 2018.
But his road to superstardom wasn’t always as glittery as it appeared. Enter Taron Egerton (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Eddie The Eagle), to don the many wild and wonderful costumes that have illuminated Elton John’s career.
We see the songwriter’s early days at home with his mother Sheila (Bryce Dallas Howard, Jurassic World), his meeting and fruitful writing partnership with Bernie Taupin (Jamie Bell, Billy Elliot), and his manager and former lover John Reid (Richard Madden, Bodyguard) watching on as he struggles with his sexuality, drugs and superstardom.
