Laika Studios add to their growing list of stop-motion masterpieces with this charming and lusciously animated adventure.

Sir Lionel Frost (Hugh Jackman), a dashing but luckless adventurer, heads to the Pacific Northwest to find Bigfoot and secure his place as the foremost expert on legendary creatures. Much to his surprise, the fabled missing link turns out to be a rather intelligent – if somewhat literal-minded – gentleman called Susan (Zach Galifianakis). After explaining that he wants to meet his cousin the Yeti, Sir Lionel agrees to help his fellow outcast and, having teamed up with ex-partner Adelina Fortnight (Zoe Saldana), sets off for Nepal. But when Sir Lionel’s rival, the dastardly Lord Piggot-Dunceby (Stephen Fry), catches wind of their quest, he enlists the services of ruffian-turned-poacher Stenk (Timothy Olyphant) to track them down and scupper their plans.

Hailed as America’s answer to Aardman, Laika have won a reputation for pushing the boundaries of their medium, with painstakingly animated hits like Coraline and Kubo and The Two Strings. Their latest entry is just as visually dazzling as its predecessors, while its cast of hilarious and loveable characters is sure to win over the whole family.
