The late Joel Schumacher, who sadly passed away on June 22, 2020, is being celebrated this summer with his hugely enjoyable and hip horror comedy.

Schumacher’s first big hit came in 1985 with the Brat Pack drama St. Elmo’s Fire, it showcased various stars from Emilio Esteves, Rob Lowe, Demi Moore, Andie MacDowell and Andrew McCarthy.

This led Schumacher to make The Lost Boys, which became an even bigger hit in the summer of 1987.

When Mike (Jason Patric) and his brother Sam (Corey Haim) move to the beach town of Santa Carla, California, they soon discover that beyond the lights and music of the amusement park and the endless beach parties, the town holds a sinister secret… It’s a haven for a gang of teenage vampires.

As Mike becomes seduced into the lifestyle of the gang, and its leader David (Kiefer Sutherland), it’s up to his younger brother to save him. Enlisting the help of the infamous Frog Brothers (Corey Feldman and Jamison Newlander), they arm themselves with stakes, garlic and holy water-filled squirt guns to destroy the unholy brood once and for all.
