Britain, 1977: with the economy in crisis, the National Front on the march in towns across the country and pop stars stoking the flames of racial hatred, it was punk that sounded the rallying cry to fight the far-right head on.

Within a few short years, a movement had exploded out of the pages of fanzines and the NME onto the streets, uniting thousands of young people across Britain under the common cause of anti-racism and a love of music. This is the story of Rock Against Racism, as told by those who were there.

But this was far from an easy battle. Using new interviews with the likes of R.A.R. founder Red Saunders, Pauline Black of The Selecter and Mykaell Riley of Steel Pulse, director Rubika Shah paints a picture of a movement that fought opposition from all sides to bring their DIY message of unity and anti-fascism to the world.

All set to a pulsing soundtrack featuring The Clash, X-Ray Spex and Tom Robinson, get set for a film that brings all the sound and fury of punk’s heyday back to life on the big screen.
