Could you use a good night’s sleep? Then don’t miss this gorgeous film that joins music, neuroscience, and the universal experience of sleep that unites us all.

Acclaimed composer and musician Max Richter, behind the music of Taboo, Ad Astra and Waltz With Bashir and a string of highly successful solo albums, created a ‘global phenomenon’ with his 8-hour opus SLEEP at an open-air concert in Los Angeles, composed for a sleeping audience. Join us for this stunning documentary that follows the music, performances and album as Richter creates ‘a meditative respite from the rush and chaos of the modern world’.

Directed by the Emmy-nominated Natalie Johns (I Am Thalente), we see Richter and his creative partner, artist and BAFTA-winning filmmaker Yulia Mahr navigate this enormously ambitious project with concert footage in Los Angeles, Berlin, Sydney and Paris, and Richter’s conversations with neuroscientist David Eagleman about the workings of the human mind while at rest.

“It’s protest music against this sort of very super industrialised, intense, mechanised way of living right now. It's a political work in that sense. It’s a call to arms to stop what we’re doing”.
