“Stealing, Cheating, Killing. Who said romance is dead?”
From screenwriter Quentin Tarantino (Pulp Fiction, Django Unchained) and director Tony Scott (Top Gun) comes this explosive alternative Valentine’s Day treat.
Clarence (Christian Slater) is a solitary comic book geek who meets and falls in love with call girl Alabama (Patricia Arquette). But whilst confronting her dangerous pimp Drexel (Gary Oldman), Clarence accidentally picks up a suitcase containing $5 million of cocaine. The young lovers race off to LA, hoping to sell it using some of Clarence’s Hollywood connections, but both the Mafia and the police are hot on their tail resulting in a bloody and brilliant finale.
With a memorable score by Hans Zimmer and an amazing ensemble cast including Christopher Walken, Dennis Hopper (watch out for a show stealing tête-à-tête between these two) and co-starring James Gandolfini, Brad Pitt, Samuel L. Jackson and Val Kilmer as Elvis, True Romance is the very definition of a modern day cult classic.
