Never tell him the odds. Following the success of Rogue One, here comes the next bi-annual standalone Star Wars story, in the shape of a Hans Solo origin story.
One of the most beloved characters throughout film, Harrison’s Ford’s portrayal of the smuggler and Millenium Falcon pilot is among the jewels of the original Star Wars trilogy. Now, the baton is passed to Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Ceaser!) to bring Hans Solo back to the big screen.
Solo boasts an exciting ensemble cast with Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke and Donald Glover (the latter as a young Lando Calirissian). We find the younger and more idealistic Solo as he encounters the mighty Chewbacca for the first time. Through meeting Tobias Beckett (Harrelson), he accepts a mission that will put him at odds with the evil Empire for the rest of his days. Described as a ‘space western’, expect all the feverish excitement that director Ron Howard applied to Apollo 13. Will the film be a blast, or a scruffy nerf-herder?
Make the jump to hyperspace down to London Road to find out. Wearing a waistcoat is optional.
