Bill Murray stars as Phil a local weatherman with ambitions to break into national news presenting. His good guy act in-front of the camera is all a facade, and instead he thrives on poisonous put-downs.
On 2nd February he gets sent to cover a Groundhog Day festival in a small Pennsylvania town along with his producer (Andie MacDowell), something that he deems below him. But a blizzard that he has failed to forecast traps him in the town, and due to some Twilight Zone-ish story riff he becomes stuck in an endless loop to relive the same day over and over.
Faced with no tomorrow, Phil can do or be anything he wants; an indulgent child, Superman, God, or even the good guy. Director and screenwriter Harold Ramis (Ghostbusters) brings to the screen an inventive and sharply satirical story about looking outside of your own life and the happiness this can bring.
Come and relive the experience of this eternally hilarious comedy on the big screen.
The film will be introduced by Dr Paul Sutton, who will stay for the end of the film for a short post-screening discussion in the front-tier of the downstairs seating area.
