In the heart-warming live-action adventure, the young boy who loved embarking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with his band of spirited stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way…
“Pooh?!”, exclaims Christopher Robin, upon finding him on a bench in Central London.
Ewan McGregor in the titular role, is bewildered that Winnie the Pooh (voiced once more by Jim Cummings) has managed to get from the Hundred Acre Wood to London.
Despite missing his beloved friend, Christopher considers himself far too busy to be dealing with this unexpected Pooh right now. Christopher immediately takes Pooh to the train station to send him back to Sussex; but eventually comes around – especially when Tigger (Cummings again!), Eeyore (Brad Garrett), Rabbit (Peter Capaldi) and Owl (Toby Jones) get involved.
Hayley Atwell also stars as the long-suffering Evelyn Robin. Evelyn continues on in employment as an architect, contributing to the rebuilding of London after the war. A role which redefines the image of women during wartime.
A much needed story about rediscovering that childhood sense of wonder, with brilliant performances from McGregor and Atwell.
