‘Breathe’ tells the extraordinary true story of Robin Cavendish (Andrew Garfield), an upper-class young, daring man whose life was changed forever after polio left him paralysed at the age of 28. Unable to move from the neck down and given only three months to live, he became a pioneering advocate for disabled people. He and his wife Diana (played by Claire Foy, ‘The Crown’) travelled the world in an inspiring and enlightening journey, trying to improve and transform the lives of other people like Robin.
‘Breathe’ is the directorial debut of Andy Serkis, English actor and film motion capture pioneer, and opened the BFI London Film Festival as a beacon for remarkable British talent.
